Project Update

The theater organ restoration is on hold because of on-going health issues.

  1. More than 8 years have gone be since my last update. I learned a couple of years ago that my 15 years of chronic health issues which brought the project to a halt has been caused by chronic Lyme disease. I am feeling somewhat better now and have been retired since July 2019 so I have more time available. Now I'm now trying to make the difficult choice of what to do about the theater organ project. I have been trying to determine the cost of the parts for restoring it, but it has been very difficult to get those answers. There were supposed to be work sessions held over the years to learn how to do the restoration which never continued to happen. I was also led to believe there would be qualified volunteers available to help with the restoration as the was with the removal which currently also doesn't seem to be the case. I have also been told there currently is no market as far as finding a buyer if I decide not to restore and install it in my home. Another factor is we are not sure how many more years we are staying in our existing home and I can't imagine that having a theater organ installed would be a reason to buy it for most people. Donating it may be another option and hopefully it will not just end up in a dumpster.
